President's Letter May 2010

I saw the first water skier Saturday 4/17 on Bell Horn Bay.
SPRING is here and SUMMER will follow soon, along with fishing, boating and
a list of water sports. Don't forget golf and tennis - or just admiring the view.

Our lake had a busy winter - ice fishing, snowmobiling, skiing and skating, to
mention a few activities.

Your Big Sandy annual meeting will be held Saturday, June 26 at the Big Sand
Bar starting with registration, coffee and rolls at 8:30. The call to order will be
9AM. If you have not renewed your membership you may do so at the door or
send your check into the association to avoid the rush. We will have several
interesting speakers and reports followed with prize drawings and lunch. Look
further for an agenda in this newsletter.

We are open for nominations to our BSL board. We have 5 incumbents up for
reelection and welcome others who would like to run for the board or work on a
board committee to spend some time for the benefit of our lake. Please call a
current board member if interested. We ask for a brief resume. Nominations
may also be made at the meeting.

We always welcome volunteers and have a checklist on our membership form.
BSLA has a booth at Wild Rice Days and would enjoy your help. You will meet
a good group of people as we sell BSL clothing and items.
Our lake and shoreline studies are interesting including testing for water quality
and invasive species.
You will get a report on our invasive species work and slot limit studies. There
are also activities near our lake area you might want to be involved with.

Clean water is our continued goal. Only we can keep our lake an ideal place to
enjoy.
See you this summer.
