The Big Sandy Lake Association has developed a plan to monitor invasive species at our four public boat landings this summer and volunteer assistance is needed. Volunteers will monitor the public boat landings through our “Adopt a Launch Site”. Volunteer as your schedule allows, the goal is to cover launch sites, May through October. Families are invited to serve together at the “Adopt a Launch Site”. Enjoy a day at a launch site with your family – bring a picnic, children can observe you in the volunteer inspection process to gain experience and understanding of an important part of our clean water program.
Training will be held in the Spring for those interested in volunteering. The training will be posted when scheduled. Public Boat Landings monitored, according to a schedule, include locations by: Trader’s Post, Hillcrest, Pier 65 and the Federal Dam.
