Big Sandy Water Institute Making a Splash!

Big Sandy Water Institute is a summer educational, recreational program
using primarily non-motorized watercraft, focusing on teaching the students
how to enjoy and preserve local waterways through boat and water safety,
kayaking, canoeing, fishing, snorkeling, environmental education and
swimming lessons.

It is sponsored by the McGregor Schools and a variety of area agencies
and organizations. The activities are open to all students age 7 and up,
including children and grandchildren of summer and weekend residents of
the lake.

Collaborative, Long Lake Conservation Center, McGregor Lions Club, The
Army Corps of Engineers, and Willey's Marine.
